Awarded a contract by the Lesotho Bureau of Statistics (BOS) to provide aerial photography, software, methodology development and training services to the pre-enumeration census mapping project of the 2016 Population and Housing Census. GeoSpace was also the census mapping service provider of the Lesotho BOS during the preparations for the 2006 Census.

Awarded  a contract by the University of Cape Town to conduct fieldwork for the National Income Dynamics Study(NIDS) Phase 4 Wave 1. This is a national panel survey. Computer-assisted personal Interview (CAPI) is used. GeoSpace also did the fieldwork for NIDS Phase 3 as well as Phase 2 Wave 2.

GeoSpace co-hosts the annual Hexagon Geospatial User Group Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Awarded a contract by the Chief Directorate: National Geo-spatial Information (CD:NGI) of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform(DRDLR), South Africa for the operating of the Department’s Digital Mapping Camera for a period of three years. This is the third time in succession that this tender has been awarded to GeoSpace. This clearly illustrates our ability to deliver as well as our commitment to the transformation of the aerial survey industry in South Africa.

GeoSpace visited Hexagon Geospatial’s offices in Vienna, Austria to do the functional specification of the SmartClient for Census software application in consultation with the Geomedia Smartclient development team. SmartClient for Census is a client-server (WEB) application specifically designed to meet the needs of pre-enumeration Population and Housing Census mapping projects in Africa.

Awarded a contract by the Gauteng City-Regional Observatory to conduct fieldwork for the Quality of Life Survey. The survey covered roughly 25,000 respondents in Gauteng, South Africa.

Awarded a contract by the University of Cape Town to conduct the fieldwork for the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS) Phase 3 – Wave 1. NIDS is a national panel survey reaching about 8000 households using digital data collection instruments to collect information covering a wide range of topics including anthropometric data. This is the biggest fieldwork exercise that the Company has been involved with.
